LUXEMBOURG CITY AND ERFURT ?

EuroZone.

Why Luxembourg City and Erfurt , blogged together ?.. The answer is because. i travel around Europe by train and bus etc. --When i decide where my main place to visit is, i look for places on route , to see or stay. This holiday i was aiming for the Czech Republic . So that is why these two places are clubbed together.-----I had heard that Erfurt had a medieval bridge, so that was something to look for. - Has a teenager in England,i listened to Radio Luxembourg on 208 metres medium wave. Yes i can still remember the dial number. It played Pop Music and broadcast in English. In those days the BBC was a bit stuffy with music, youngsters listened to Radio Luxembourg. -------------------Luxembourg City is the Capital of a small country in Europe. The City is on two levels. The Old Town is Upper and the Grund Quarter is Lower. I didn"t have time to visit the lower town. There is a huge viaduct bridge over the River Petrusse Valley. --- The Head of State is a Duke and resides in the Ducal Palace in Luxembourg City. --The cathedral is Notre Dame and catholic.---- The currency of Luxembourg is the Euro.-----LUXEMBOURG CITY Rail Station.

------------Erfurt is in Central Germany, about 300km from Berlin the Capital. - Erfurt is mostly medieval with its strange bridge with houses built on it. It is 120m long and was built in 1325. It has stone arches that go over the River Gera. In German it is known as the Kramerbrucke, in English the Merchants Bridge. While in Erfurt there was heavy rain so didn"t see all i wanted too, but did see the Statue of Martin Luther [1483-1546] He studied at Erfurt University from 1501. The currency in Germany is the Euro.----------- GERMANY ERFURT........Railway Station.
